Bees chairman dismisses O's link
04:00 PM 22 January, 2009
Greg Dyke has dismissed speculation linking his manager Andy Scott with the vacant hot-seat at Leyton Orient.

Orient ended Martin Ling's spell as boss last week and Dyke told BBC London 94.9:,"I can't believe he'd go. He's got a side challenging for promotion.

"Orient aren't a richer club and look like they could be relegated so why would he do that?"

Brentford are currently second in League Two behind leaders Wycombe. Orient are fourth from bottom in League One. Orient were Scott's last club before retirement. He appeared fifty-one times for them.

"Over the years we've, by-and-large, been in a higher league than Orient, they're not a bigger club than we are," Dyke added.

"He's only been in the job for a year and I think young managers need to be careful - I thought Paul Ince was the classic example of someone who went up too far, too fast."
