The O's are out of the relegation zone after beating relegation rivals Brighton.
"The game was a bit scrappy but to be fair the pitch was a bit lively for everyone and there was an awful lot at stake," said boss Geraint Williams.
"I thought the players showed a lot of character and Sean (Thornton) scored a goal good enough to win any game.
"It's important the players enjoy this win because they've had some lean times here at Brisbane Road.
"The fans were fantastic and created a great atmosphere and the players have responded. They should enjoy it in the right way as we have a massive game at Carlisle on Tuesday."
