Allardyce shrugs off Liverpool coach comments
07:59 PM 07 March, 2010
Sam Allardyce has shrugged off comments by Liverpool Football Club coach Rafael Benitez.

The Reds boss again criticised Allardyce and his Blackburn Rovers side following the meeting of the two teams at Anfield last Sunday, which the home side won 2-1.

"It just galls him that we make things difficult for him when he plays against my teams,” Allardyce told the Mail on Sunday. "There's no love lost between us.

"The truth is Liverpool are having to dig out results when they are not playing well. They didn't particularly earn the win last week but they dug it out.

"My reputation has been a perception for some time rather than a reality. It's a great shame for the Blackburn players because it's not their fault the manager is tagged by a so-called long-ball style.

"It's just not factual."

When your goal keeper becomes a main attacking player with free kicks 10 yards outside his box its shocking for football. This is not aimed at Blackburn under Mark Hughes fought hard and fair. Allerdyce banned the Radio One commentator from Bolton for telling the truth about his style. He plays football like rugby & ammerican foorbal. At Bolton thet played the long ball towards the touch line to obtain throwins. The big boys then all march up the feild like american footbal players. In my opion the Bolton fans would rather have Owen Coyles formatt & Blackburn Mark Hughes formatt. Its cary to think England could have made Allerdyce manager, this e-mail is not against Blackburn or Bolton or because I'm a red. Sam Allerdyce belongs in conference football, any one could adopt his tacktics. I could understand them in desperation towarsd the end of a match, but from the 1st minute. God Help Football as a spectacle, we might as well get rid of midfields and add two up front and two indefence under Allerdyce tatics.
