Yoann Gourcuff is a reported target for Liverpool Football Club.
The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the best midfield players in France, but a string of injuries reduced his playing time last season to just 13 league appearances.
As a result Gourcuff is not included as part of Laurent Blanc’s Euro 2012 plans, but he is determined to bounce back next season and find his very best form.
Reports in France suggest Brendan Rodgers is keen to offer the playmaker a fresh start in the Premier League, but it doesn’t appear as though Lyon are prepared to sell.
"I never stated he will leave this summer. Anyway, to leave, you need an offer and there is no offer for Yoann,” the president of the club, Jean Michel Aulas, told L’Equipe.
"Moreover, I am not necessarily keen to let Yoann Gourcuff leave, so there is a 99 per cent chance he will remain a Lyon player next season."
