Martin Skrtel will start the new season at Liverpool.

The Slovakian international enjoyed his best season yet for the Reds last term, and this has sparked speculation linking him with Manchester City.

Roberto Mancini is said to be willing to pay £20million for Skrtel, but the 27-year-old’s agent insists the defender is all but certain to remain at Anfield.

"He has another two years on his contract,” Karol Csonto told Radio Crc. "Martin is a top player and many clubs are looking at him, but for now Skrtel remains a Liverpool player."
