Brendan Rodgers has rubbished suggestions Luis Suarez could be heading for Juventus.

It has been reported that the Italian champions are interested in the controversial Uruguayan forward, who is under contract at Liverpool until 2016.

However, new Anfield boss Rodgers has already held discussions with Suarez, and he fully expects the 25-year-old to remain on Merseyside for some time to come.

"I'm confident Luis is really looking forward to playing for us this season and is really looking forward to this way of football," said Rodgers. "I have spoken to him and had nothing but positivity from him.

“He is at the Olympics and I wish him well, but I will wish him better when he comes back. There is always that rumour, speculation and gossip and until the window closes that will continue."
