Real Madrid are set to enter the race to sign Giorgio Chiellini.

The Italian international defender has been linked with a summer exit from Juventus, and Manchester City have made him a top target for the 2010/11 season.

Roberto Mancini is determined to shore up his back four at Eastlands, and recently went on record to label Chiellini the best defender in Serie A.

However, reports in Italy and Spain claim Real Madrid are also interested in the 25-year-old, who has attempted to shrug off the interest in his signature.

“There's a lot written about this subject and there are many rumours. The interest from big clubs does make you happy, but I have no intention of leaving Juventus," said Chiellini.

"I feel very good here and I hope to stay for a long time and extend my relationship with the club. I think we're going to do this in the summer."
