Shay Given insists Manchester City Football Club are now brimming with confidence.

City caused a storm last weekend when they travelled to Stamford Bridge to take on Premier League leaders Chelsea, and left the capital on the back of a 4-2 win.

This has reinforced their bid to finish in the top four this season, and Given has sent a warning to the Blues rivals as the season enters its business end.

"We have played fewer games than some of the other sides and this is going to go to the wire,” he told The People. "There are three or four other teams fighting for fourth.

“It's probably as tight as the title race. We showed what we can do against Chelsea but now we have to back it up. That win at Stamford Bridge really gave us huge belief and confidence."
