Reports in Italy claim the Blues coach has set his sights on Palermo star Silvestre, as he looks to bolster his defensive stock at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old Argentine, who also qualifies to play for Italy, is under contract at the Serie A side until 2015, and he would cost a fee in the region of £7million.
