Roberto Mancini wants Mamadou Sakho at Manchester City.

The France international has hinted he could be ready to leave hometown club Paris St Germain this summer, with England his preferred destination.

Sakho, 22, feels the rapid growth of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad could halt his progress, as he looks to build on his reputation as one of the best young defenders around.

And although his chances of first team football could hardly be increased with a move to City, Mancini hopes to lure him to the Etihad Stadium in a £12million deal.
