Gael Clichy believes the Premier League is the main target for Arsenal Football Club this season.

Despite losing twice to both Chelsea and Manchester United this term, the Gunners have done excellently to get in a position where they are still very much in the hunt for the title.

A place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final has also been achieved thanks to a stunning 5-0 win over Porto, but Clichy would prefer to take the title from Old Trafford if he had a choice.

“This season is all about winning as much silverware as possible and the Premier League is now so close,” he said. "The confidence and the quality are there and it's right there for us to take.

“I won the League in my first season and it was a great feeling. When you work so hard, go through so many good and bad times, to win the title shows that you have been the best team.

"That's why I want to win the Premier League over the Champions League this year, even though the European Cup may be a better trophy in the eyes of most people.”
