Sir Alex Ferguson has told Owen Hargreaves Manchester United must come before England.

The midfielder has not played in the Reds first team since September 2008 due to knee injuries, but he appeared for the reserve side during last midweek.

This has sparked hope Hargreaves will appear before the end of the season which in turn could lead to his place in England’s World Cup squad, but Ferguson has reminded him where his loyalties lie.

"We deserve some service," he said. "Talk about World Cups? He has been out for a year-and-a-half. There is nothing wrong with talking about it but he should be concentrating on Manchester United.”
