Stoke City Football Club have reportedly tabled an offer for Gary O’Neil.

The midfielder is being heavily tipped to leave Middlesbrough and return to the Premier League this winter, with Blackburn Rovers and Everton said to be interested.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Tony Pulis is looking to steal a march on his top-flight rivals, and has supposedly already made an offer of £4million.

O’Neil, 26-years-old, has failed to reproduce his Portsmouth form at the Riverside Stadium, and he may well welcome a move during the window.
