Manchester City make Johnson bid
11:00 AM 28 January, 2010
Manchester City Football Club have reportedly bid for Adam Johnson.

The 22-year-old winger is one of the most sought-after players outside the Premier League, and his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Middlesbrough plan to keep him at the Riverside Stadium as they look to earn promotion, and then reluctantly let him leave in the summer for a compensatory figure.

However, Sky Sports claim Roberto Mancini has made a move to take Johnson to Eastlands before Monday’s deadline, as he looks to overcome his Carling Cup heartbreak.

The Blues crashed out of the competition at the semi-final stage thanks to Wayne Rooney’s injury-time winner for neighbours United, and a new signing could help lift the spirits.
