Manchester City increase Johnson bid
11:00 AM 01 February, 2010
Manchester City Football Club have increased their bid for Adam Johnson.

Roberto Mancini has jumped to the front of the queue to sign the 22-year-old winger, who is in the final six months of his contract at Middlesbrough.

Gordon Strachan is keen to keep the player at the Riverside Stadium for the rest of the season, and Boro rejected an offer from City last week.

However, it is believed the mega-rich Eastlands club are set to make an improved bid for Johnson, in an effort to beat Monday’s 5pm deadline.
