Millwall Football Club have confirmed their interest in Darren Carter.

After securing promotion to the Championship last season the Lions are looking to bolster their squad, and Preston North End midfielder Carter is a target.

"He (Carter) is a proven Championship player - we have made an enquiry about him," manager Kenny Jackett told the South London Press.

"Preston's manager is currently away at a training camp but I have been told he is due back at some stage this weekend so I hope to hear from him in the coming days."
