Smith hints at permanent MK Dons deal
04:30 PM 01 February, 2012
Alan Smith has hinted he could be prepared to stay at MK Dons Football Club.

The 31-year-old has joined the League One club on loan until the end of the season, when his contract at parent club Newcastle United will come to a close.

Smith has a good feeling about his switch to the Dons, and he has even hinted that he could be prepared to make the move permanent in the summer.

"You have feelings about places sometimes," he said. "The chairman and manager have a special feeling for this football club and when myself and my agent came down we both got that feeling as well.

"I've seen MK Dons play a few times this season and I've been very impressed with how Karl Robinson's teams set-up and how they play football.

"It's a football club which is building for the future and it was a decision which was so easy to make. As soon as you get belief about a place it's difficult to walk away.”
