Mark McGhee thinks it is 'unlikely' that Stephen Hughes will re-join him at Pittodrie.

The former Motherwell man is now a free agent and a confirmed target for the Dons.

"Stephen Hughes knows of our interest but he's keeping his options open," McGhee told BBC Scotland.

"One report said he's turned down £7,000 a week. That's way out of our league so it's unlikely that Stephen Hughes will be coming to Aberdeen."
