John Ruddy will start the season at Motherwell Football Club.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is down the pecking order for places at Everton, and he has made just one appearance for the Premier League club since joining in 2005.

Ruddy has had loan spells on no less than eight occasions since moving to Merseyside, and his latest move will see him fighting Michael Fraser for the number one spot at Fir Park.

The former England Under-19 international will spend the first six months at Well, but the deal could be made permanent during the January transfer window.
