Liverpool Football Club are likely to be priced out of a move for Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Reds were heavily linked with the Argentine striker in the New Year, but they baulked at Napoli’s demands of £13million for a transfer to be considered.

Rafael Benitez reportedly sees the 24-year-old as an ideal foil for Fernando Torres, although he has only scored three times in Serie A so far this season.

Sport.co.uk claim the Spaniard remains interested in Lavezzi, but he continues to be priced out of making a bid due to the financial difficulties at the Anfield club.

The forward’s agent, Frederic Guerra, has revealed there is indeed interest in his client, although he fully expects him to see out the season with his current side.
