Sebastian Larsson could be a summer target for Newcastle United Football Club.

The Magpies have been linked with the Swedish international in the past, and it is being rumoured that Chris Hughton has pencilled him in as a possible target for the summer.

Larsson is out of contract at Birmingham City at the end of the season when he would be available on a free, although he has revealed he could yet extend his stay at St Andrews.

“Both the club and myself are relaxed about it and that’s the way we want it to be,” he told the Birmingham Mail. “Hopefully an agreement will be sorted in the not-too-distant future.”

If the former Arsenal man fails to reach an agreement with the high-flying Premier League outfit, though, he could yet earn a contract at St James Park.
