No Newcastle United interest in Bullard
02:30 PM 05 September, 2010
Adam Pearson insists no Premier League club approached Hull City Football Club in the summer to ask about the possibility of signing Jimmy Bullard.

The Tigers are eager to offload the highest-earner at the club from their wage-bill, and were disappointed when a proposed move to Celtic collapsed.

It was rumoured that Newcastle United were keen to take Bullard, 31, to St James Park, but Pearson insists there was no approach from the top-flight.

“Jimmy wanted to play Premier League football and we wanted to reduce our wage bill,” Hull’s head of football operations told the Hull Daily Mail.

"It would have been in everyone's interests, but we haven't had one Premier League team come in for him. He will be treated like any other member of the squad."
