Steven Taylor has shrugged off speculation linking him with Manchester City Football Club.

The 24-year-old is in the final twelve months of his contract at Newcastle United, who stunned him last month by making him available for transfer.

Manchester City are the latest club to be linked with a move for Taylor in the New Year, but the defender insists all his focus is on overcoming a shoulder injury and regaining his fitness.

"All I am doing is concentrating on getting myself fit and making myself available for selection," Taylor, who remains keen on staying at St James Park, told The People.
