The United manager is determined to build on this progress next term, and he has already moved to take Romain Amalfitano from Reims on a free transfer.

Reports now suggest Pardew is keen on Holland international Anita, the Ajax midfield player, with a bid of £6million being lined up for the 23-year-old.
