Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Cohen has signed a new four-year deal.
The 22-year-old had two years to run on his existing deal but will now stay until 2013.
He told Forest World, "It was an easy decision for me to make. I still had two years left on my old contract but both myself and the club wanted to do something. I can only see the club going forward and I want to be a part of that.
"We're looking for progression - it may not happen straight away but I definitely think that we've got a fantastic chance of getting ourselves in the Premier League over the course of the four years I've signed for."
"That's the main reason I've signed. Everyone aspires to playing in the highest division and I really do believe I'll be able to do that with Forest."
Forest manager Billy Davies said,"It's very important for the club to continue building and making progress.
"The fact that Chris Cohen wants to stay at the club speaks volumes and we're absolutely delighted that our 'Player of the Year' is going to be on board for the foreseeable future.
"All the players know where we're looking to go and it's a great indication when players want to sign new contracts."
