Nottingham Forest Football Club could end their interest in Gareth Bale.

Billy Davies has been heavily linked with a move for the Wales international fullback, who is struggling to make an impression at Tottenham Hotspur under Harry Redknapp.

However, having signed Nicky Shorey from Aston Villa on loan, the Forest boss has revealed he hopes to make this deal permanent, which would likely end his interest in Bale.

“We'll try and sit down and negotiate with Aston Villa with regards to extending the loan or, fingers crossed, trying to conclude a permanent deal," said Davies.
