Nottingham Forest seek McKenna replacement
03:00 PM 08 March, 2010
Nottingham Forest Football Club are hoping to land a loan deal in the coming days.

The Championship promotion hopefuls have been dealt a blow with the knee ligament injury to Paul McKenna, who had started every game for them since his summer move from Preston North End.

The 32-year-old is likely to miss the rest of the campaign, and manager Billy Davies is set to enter the transfer market in a bid to make an emergency loan signing.

"It is not good for McKenna, it looks as if it is ligament damage. We could be looking at a serious amount of time. It could possibly be season-ending," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"He has been a wonderful captain for us. But that is why you need a squad. We talk about the need to bring in faces at certain times because we know these things will happen.

"We need to bring in a replacement. We will have to sit down and identify players we might be able to get and put it to the transfer acquisitions committee."
