Notts County Football Club have set their sights on Gary McSheffrey.

The 27-year-old midfielder is down the pecking order at Birmingham City, and he is being widely tipped to leave St Andrews in a loan deal.

The Daily Star suggest mega-ambitious County are keen to take McSheffrey for the rest of the season, with a bid set to be tabled for the player.

However, the League Two side face some stiff competition from clubs in the Championship, including Coventry City and Sheffield United.
