Diamond disappointed to leave Oldham
Zander Diamond admits he is disappointed to leave Oldham Athletic Football Club.
The 27-year-old was due to become out of contract at the League One club during the summer, but he had hoped to earn a fresh agreement.
However, the Latics are struggling financially, and they have been left with no other option but to terminate the defender’s deal and show him the Boundary Park exit door.
"In the economic climate and with the playing budget set to be cut, the club could not honour that," Diamond told the club's official website.
"It is disappointing as I have loved my season here and thought I would be staying. I leave Latics with some good memories and I want to stay in England having had a taste here."
