Eckersley explains Plymouth Argyle move
Richard Eckersley has explained his loan move to Plymouth Argyle Football Club.
The young defender hasn’t played for Burnley this season, and he was waiting for the outcome of a tribunal decision regarding his transfer fee from Manchester United.
This was set at £500,000 last week, and he then sealed a loan move to Plymouth, which he and Clarets boss Brian Laws both agree is the best move to get him regular football.
“Burnley manager Brian Laws said to me that I just needed some games under my belt and I agreed with him totally,” said Eckersley. "I just want to play games.
“If coming down to Plymouth is what it takes, then so be it. Plymouth are a good club. It might be the bottom of the country, but I'm not bothered as long as I am playing football."
