Highly-rated goalkeeper Joe Anyon has penned a one-year contract at Vale Park as he recovers from a broken leg.

The 21-year-old, long linked with a move to a bigger club, told The Sentinel: "I'm over the moon and delighted with the deal.

"The chairman, Bill Bratt, has really looked after me and helped me start my recovery from my broken leg, and I haven't wanted for anything.

"The club have looked after me ever since I've been here, so it was easy for me to accept the offer."
