Ricardo Rocha believes he can help Portsmouth Football Club retain their Premier League status.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender has joined the top-flights bottom club after his stay with Standard Liege ended, and he aims to help Avram Grant’s side avoid the drop.

"It's very good for me to be back," Rocha told Pompey's official website. "It will be good to be able to show everybody what I can do, and I want to prove it to myself and to the people of Portsmouth.

"But the most important thing is to help get Portsmouth away from the bottom."
