James insists Portsmouth can still stay up
07:45 PM 05 March, 2010
David James believes Portsmouth Football Club can still avoid relegation.

Pompey are five points adrift of safety in the Premier League with eleven games to go, and are expected to be given a further nine point penalty for going into administration.

Whilst many pundits would consider only a minor miracle could keep the Fratton Park club in the top-flight, James is refusing to give up the fight.

"There are so many people who are pessimistic, as long as we have a chance in the Premier League [then we won't give up]," the England goalkeeper told Sky Sports.

"People see it is a foregone conclusion, but I don't see it like that. The situation at Portsmouth has generated all sorts of questions, and we can't answer them all."
