Frederic Piquionne has welcomed Birmingham City Football Club’s interest in him.

Despite Portsmouth’s struggles this season, the striker has impressed during his loan spell from Lyon, and he hopes to stay in England next term.

Alex McLeish is reportedly lining up a summer offer for the 31-year-old, as he looks to bolster his attacking options at St Andrews during the window.

“I am still under contract at Lyon,” Piquionne told L’Equipe. “I don’t want to go back and sit on the bench. My preference would be to stay in England.”
