Michael Brown insists Portsmouth Football Club are looking for a strong finish to the season.

Pompey are as good as relegated following a nine-point deduction for going into administration, but with an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to, they want to end the campaign on a high.

"The nine-point deduction has come in now, which had been dragging on and we had sort of been waiting for it," said Brown. "We are all very disappointed with that.

“But we have to go on now and win as many games as we can. It has been there for a while, and it was not as if we did not know it was coming.

"The second we went into administration, we all knew it was going to be difficult not to receive the deduction. We have been dealt that now, and have to move on.

“I am sure everyone will be on their toes. We have got a job to do until the end of the season, we have got a big semi-final coming up and all we can do is our best."
