Avram Grant has hailed the spirit of his Portsmouth Football Club players.

Having received their nine point deduction last week Pompey are virtually assured of relegation, and Grant threatened to play a weakened side for the remainder of the campaign.

However, the FA Cup semi-finalists certainly showed their fighting spirit on Saturday, as they came back from 2-1 down to beat Hull City with two goals in the dying stages of the match.

“As long as I'm here we will come to every game with a high spirit,” Grant told Sky Sports.

“You don't have to give up. Football is more than football. It's very easy to break people and a team in difficult moments. You can only do what we did with the right spirit."
