Portsmouth face battle to keep duo
10:30 AM 25 June, 2012
Portsmouth Football Club’s David Norris and Luke Varney are wanted men.

Relegated from the Championship last season, it was always likely that the financially troubled Fratton Park side would lose a number of their star players this summer.

And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, two of them – Norris and Varney – could be lining up alongside each other for Leeds United next season.

The Elland Road club want both players to bolster their promotion bid next term, and it is believed that are prepared to pay a combined fee of £1million for their signatures.

Midfielder Norris, 31, and striker Varney, 29, have already seen one of their Pompey pals leave for Leeds, when Jason Pearce joined the Whites last month.
