Trio in frame to become West Brom boss?
06:47 PM 18 June, 2009
The search for Tony Mowbray's successor now takes centre stage after Celtic finally agreed a deal to make him their new manager.

Albion chairman Jeremy Peace, flush with compensation cash from the SPL giants is believed to be looking at three men in particular to spearhead a promotion charge at the Hawthorns.

Darren Ferguson, who has led Peterborough United into the Championship, Preston boss Alan Irvine and highly-rated former Baggie Derek McInnes, currently in charge of St Johnstone, are the names in the frame.

Shame West Brom dropped down one Div - but foolish Mowbray has dropped down about 4 divs, having to beat the likes of Falkirk and Hamilton Academical to play in Europe! haha - BIG MISTAKE TONY (Tamworth would be in Europe if they played in that league)

Which ever new manager is chosen, he will not last long, it is really time for Mr Peace to go. Despite him being a prudent businessman, he earns a lot of money from the club (look at the number of fans who have renewed their season tickets in loyal hope) but it is more a case of self interest rather than ambition for the club. He will only appoint a yes man!

Fergie or McInnes yes, and add to that Johnson from Bristol City and i`d be well pleased if that was our short list. Sorry but no way to Coppell as he just does`nt seem interested in the game at the moment, and Curbishley rates himself a bit to highly(like our left-back)

What we want is ball players who play with a bit of passion. Whilst the pretty, flowing football was nice to watch, sometimes!! We need a motivator. Only one man for me .... he led when he captained us and will lead us as a manager .... McInnes

What about putting Steve Coppell into the list of possibles?

It's gotta be Curbishley. He's got loads of Premiership experience and the players who are itching to leave would have enough respect for his achievements to stay. That won't happen with Ferguson, Irvine or McInnes. All are too inexperienced.

I agree with Dave. I went to both the Peterborough games, and would love Darren Ferguson to be our next boss

Darren Ferguson please. A young up and coming manager and having seen Peterborough play the Baggies a couple of times recently they play football in similar way to us
