Brown assured of Preston North End future
Preston North End Football Club will be sticking with Phil Brown.
The former Hull City manager succeeded Darren Ferguson at Deepdale earlier this season, when it was already clear the Lancashire side had a struggle to retain their Championship status.
This fight was eventually lost at the weekend when they lost 1-0 to Cardiff City, but chairman Maurice Lindsay insists Brown will remain in charge of the club.
"The team went down fighting and they've been fighting for many weeks," he said. "It's been on the cards for quite some time now. It's been slowly sinking in that the club needed to rebuild.
“The signing of Phil Brown is fantastic. In League One, we would have the basis of a new Preston North End team. We've just run out of games."
