Reading have told Sunderland they must pay £5m for Ireland international winger Stephen Hunt, according to the Daily Express

The Black Cats offered the same amount during the last transfer window, but the bid was rejected as by keeping their squad together Reading were hoping to get promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Now that Hunt has announced his intention to return to the top flight immediately, Reading are now resigned to losing him.
