Kevin Doyle could be heading back to Reading Football Club in the summer.
If Wolverhampton Wanderers lose their Premier League status this season, they are likely to lose the Republic of Ireland international when the window reopens.
The Molineux club could be replaced in the top-flight by Reading, who sold Doyle to them for a fee of £6.5million back in the summer of 2009.
And if they do clinch promotion from the Championship, the Royals are lining up a £4million to lure the 28-year-old forward back to the Madejski Stadium.
