Erik Edman would welcome a move to Sheffield United Football Club.

The Swedish international is finding regular football at Wigan Athletic hard to come by this season, and his contract is set to expire in the summer when he looks certain to leave.

It has been claimed that the Blades would be interested in taking Edman on loan for the rest of the campaign, and his agent admits the fullback would welcome such an opportunity.

“Sheffield United would suit Erik really good,” Allan Bak Jensen told Aftonbladet. “The club has expressed a big interest in loaning Edman. But nothing is definite yet.

“A loan to Sheffield would suit really good for social reasons. Erik and his wife Hanna are awaiting a third child and don't want to move. Going on loan will probably not be the final move."
