Burnley Football Club will have to pay more than £1.5million for Marcus Tudgay.

Whilst Sheffield United have denied reports the Clarets have made an offer for Tudgay, the Championship side rate the 26-year-old higher than the suggested bid of £1.5million.

"Sheffield Wednesday has not received a formal offer from Burnley for the services of Marcus Tudgay," read a statement from the Yorkshire club.

"As a club, Sheffield Wednesday wants to build a competitive squad around players like Marcus Tudgay, with the aim of reaching the Premier League together.

"Further, Marcus recently agreed a new three-year contract with Sheffield Wednesday, which he is due to sign when the players return later this week.”
