Newcastle United eye defender Beevers

Newcastle United Football Club are interested in Mark Beevers.

Chris Hughton’s side look good value to make an instant return to the Premier League this season, and he wants to add more quality to his back four in preparation for the top-flight.

The first choice of the Magpies manager was Matthew Kilgallon, of Sheffield United, but he appears destined to join Everton when his contract expires in the summer.

The Daily Star claim Hughton has now turned his attentions to another Sheffield star, this time Wednesday’s 20-year-old ace Beevers, in an £800,000 deal.

However, the St James Park club could face competition for the England Under-19 international in the shape of former Owls manager Brian Laws, now in charge at Burnley.

As newcastle fan, think he would be good buy, and can play CB or LB. Since Kilgallon has went to the mackems he is ideal as second choice. Should swap him for ameobi anyday!
