Paul Simpson wants his side to make the most of a dramatic win at Bury on Sunday and finish off the job in the play-off final.

"It's fantastic, unless you're going to be champions of the league, this is a fantastic way to get promotion," he said in the wake of the penalty shoot-out success at Gigg Lane.

"I know we're not promoted yet but we're one step closer.

"I don't want to be in the play-offs to make up the numbers. I want to do it properly.

"It hasn't sunk in yet, there's a lot to look forward to and I've got to put my holidays back a little longer."
