Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik has been linked with a move to Southampton.

Nigel Adkins is preparing his squad for their return to the Premier League, having earned promotion from the Championship last season.

The Saints manager has already signed Nathaniel Clyne, Steven Davis and Jay Rodriquez this summer, and he has now set his sights on Kana-Biyik.

Under contract at Rennes until 2015, the Cameroon international defender, 23, is rated at £5million by the French club, who signed him from Le Havre in 2010.
