Mid-table obscurity for Colchester United
06:12 PM 22 February, 2009
Paul Lambert was unhappy with his side after their derby defeat on Saturday.

He said: "Southend took their only chance and it was a good finish. But we were asleep for some strange reason and it wasn't offside.

"Pat Baldwin had a chance where he should have scored, Kem Izzet had an opportunity with a header and Mark Yeates had one saved by the keeper.

"We had a lot of the ball but Southend defended strongly and tried to hit us on the counter-attack which is their prerogative, but we were slow to react."
