Accrington Stanley have bolstered their squad by signing Everton youngster James McCarten.
The 19-year-old was targeted by Stanley boss John Coleman earlier this season but they could not pursue it because of an unpaid tax bill.
Now their transfer ban has been lifted, Coleman has moved to land McCarten on loan.
"I trained here a few weeks ago but wasn't allowed to play in the games so I went back to Everton to train," said McCarten.
"Now the embargo has been lifted I'm really happy to come here and try to get some games."
Manager Coleman added: "He's a good player. He's good in the air, he's a good talker for one so young and he adds competition at the back."
