Wigan Athletic Football Club have not made an approach for Roberto Martinez.

If Steve Bruce leaves the JJB Stadium for Sunderland the Latics are expected to move for their former midfielder, but Swansea City insist they have not yet received an approach.

“It is quite natural every time something happens at Wigan that Roberto is brought into it because of his personal links," said chairman Huw Jenkins in the Evening Post.

"But I have had no contact and nor do I expect to. Roberto is under contract here and we are both aware of the targets this club has. We want to get into the Premier League.”
