Former professional footballer Jim Melrose's consortium has agreed a deal with County's administrators to buy the club.

A spokesperson for the Melrose consortium said: "We look forward to developing a fruitful relationship with Sale Sharks and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, which will provide the basis for a successful future for Stockport County."
